What Are Your Rights at the Scene?

If you are driving a motor vehicle on the public roads in the State of Georgia, then the city/county/state police officers have fairly broad discretion in requesting that you stop your vehicle for questioning and investigation of certain irregular driving and/or other traffic offenses. Here is a broad-brush view of your rights after being “stopped” by a police officer who observes some kind of erratic driving, a violation of Georgia Rules of the Road (ran a red light), or another traffic stop.
